The Book of Business courtesy of Dick Poedtke

A plain full leather cover, seen above hides very ornate doublures seen below.

The very nice leather clam shell that houses this beauty is seen above!

Note the LS for Lorenz Schwartz.

The Book of Business

by Elbert Hubbard, 1913

The Book of Business, circa 1913. McKenna lists the Romance of Business as being published in 1916 and 1917, i.e. numbers 243 and 255 but has no listing for The Book of Business. I would surmise that this is a very unique if not one of a kind inlaid binding by Lorenz Schwartz. Of particular interest is that the full leather binding is very plain but when the covers are opened, the doublures have very ornate inlay and gilt work. The detail work, as can be seen, is awesome. The pages are Japan Vellum and very nicely illuminated throughout.
