Being Several Short Essays, Helpful Sermonettes, Epigrams and Orphic sayings from the Writings of Elbert Hubbard.
Note: Unlike the previous 3/4 binding, the photo opposite the title page is full size. However, the title page is not illumined. This book is # 87 of 100.
Comment: This book measures 11" x 8 3/4"
and has 120 pages. The text body is set in McFarland and 100 copies were printed
on Imperial Japan Vellum and bound 3/4 leather. The regular edition was printed
on Boxmoor paper and bound paper over boards with a suede spine and corners and
3/4 leather. This book was also bound in modeled leather. Richard Kruger
designed the ornamentation, the composition was by Charles Rosen, and the press
work was done by Otto Franz.
The book above is listed in the 1902 catalog and sold for $25.00. Interestingly the 1902 copies lists 50 on Imperial Japan Vellum specially bound but there were actually 100. It is also listed in the 1903 catalog for $25.00
