Gray's Elegy

by Thomas Gray, 1903

#7 of 100

Note: This is a unique binding, in that, rather than the typical solid color leather, a variegated leather binding was used.

The book measures 7 3/4" x 5 3/4" and has 16  pages. The body of the text is in Caslon and was printed on French-folded Boxmoor paper in two colors. The limited edition of 100 shown above is printed on Japan Vellum. Interestingly, McKenna states a "few" copies were advertised to have been printed on Japan Vellum and bound 3/4 Levant but none of this edition has been found. Apparently, he didn't look in Dick's book case.
This book was listed in the 1903 catalog and sold for $10.00
