Scores of illuminators were employed at the Roycroft, but only a few were considered adept; expert enough to be illustrators. They were allowed a great deal of leeway and artistic freedom was encouraged. Significant variations in the style of illustrations can be found in different copies of the same book.

Note: One of the first illustrators at The Roycroft, she was equally adept at landscape, still life and caricature. Almost certainly influenced by Denslow, some books were co-illustrated by the pair.
