Little Journeys to the Homes of Philosophers

by Elbert Hubbard, 1904

This book measures 7 3/4" x 6" and has 35 pages paginated from 155 to 189. It was printed in 1904 on Roycroft watermarked paper that incorporated the Roycroft cross and orb utilizing the Denslow seahorse. It was bound in 3/4 Levant with marbleized boards and endpapers. Unlike many of the Little Journeys to the Homes of Philosophers, it is completely illumined and inscribed by Hubbard. There is no limitation statement and it appears to be identical to the usual Little Journeys with the exception of the complete illumination. McKenna notes this book as being bound in paper over boards but there were also, as can be seen above, 3/4 Levant copies made in undetermined quantities.
