A Message to Garcia and Thirteen Other Things
by Elbert Hubbard, 1901
Illustrated by Elsie
Whitney
#60 of 450
This book measures 8 3/4" x 5 1/2" and has 166 pages. The text body is set in Old Style Antique and printed on on Boxmoor paper. The regular edition of this book was bound in paper over boards or full suede. Additionally, the edition of 450 copies seen above had facsimile pages of the original manuscript inserted in the book, was hand illumined, and bound in full suede with a wallet edge. There was an edition of 50 printed on Imperial Japan Vellum, hand illumined and bound in 3/4 leather and marble board. There were other special order bindings available and I believe this was also bound in full Levant. The book above is listed in the 1901 catalog and sold for $5.00
