Pastelles and Prose
by Elbert Hubbard, 1907
This book measures 8 1/4" x 6 1/4" This book is a suede bound copy of the Pastelles and Prose pamphlet published by the Roycrofters and is not listed in McKenna in book form. The Roycrofters would bind booklets/pamphlets on request from customers and I expect they would also bound a few for the more upper-crust visitors for whom a bound volume might have more appeal. This booklet/book was written by Elbert Hubbard and is a praise piece for John Wannamaker who was a very famous merchant in the mid 1800's and 1900's. Wannamaker was born in Philadelphia July 11th 1838 and died December 12th 1922 and was one of the most famous retail merchants of his day.
