The Four Gospels
by Marilla Ricker, 1911
possible Harry Avery binding
This book measures 7 1/4" x 4 3/4" and has 130 numbered pages. This book was set using Scotch Roman type and printed in two colors on Boxmoor paper. The regular edition was bound in paper over boards with a leather spine. The edition above was bound in full Levant and although the binding is not signed it has the feel of a Harry Avery binding.
The book was inscribed by Marilla Ricker
with the following:
It requires much hounding to make a dent in the theological views and habits of
the people, otherwise the Christian religion would have been eliminated from the
world long ago.
Yours Very Truly,
Marilla M. Ricker
