Twentieth Century Musings
Being Things Thought Out

 by M. Clay Burbridge, 1913

This book measures 7 1/2" x 5" and has 534 pages. The body of the text is set in Bookman. The book was bound in suede and much like the Clubmen books it traditionally because of it's large size i.e. 534 pages does not stand the test of time well. The book itself is fairly uncommon. The author, a woman, is the granddaughter of Captain Myles Standish, and the book is dedicated: “To my Colonial grandfather Captain Myles Standish as a tribute to his heroic service and unselfish devotion to the cause of liberty – M.C.B. his granddaughter of the ninth generation.” It's a collection of sayings, aphorisms, and thoughts to live by.
